Why is it “Black” people and “white” people? If Black is a racial group, then so is White, and it should also be capitalized. If black is an adjective, then it should not be capitalized just as white should not.

Talk about “having your cake and eating it too”. If there is a legitimate reason why Black should be capitalized and white not, I’d very much like to know.
